Denture Implants: Helping Keep Dentures in Place

Denture implants are a revolutionary way of replacing missing teeth if you’re not able to spend the time and money on dental implants but don’t want to constantly worry about dealing with dentures. They really are the best of both worlds!

Denture implants don’t require the use of any adhesives or pastes because they simply snap down in your mouth and stay put! And that also means you can easily snap them out when needed. This eliminates any doubt of you losing your dentures with the added confidence of enjoying your favorite foods and having a radiant smile!

Denture implants are still dentures, but are considered mini implants. That’s because we use the 3M Denture Attachment System so they easily snap in and out of your mouth.

How Does the 3M Denture Attachment System Work?

The first step requires us to install miniature posts in your gums. These posts align with the holes in your dentures, allowing them to easily snap in and snap out when needed. The posts are small enough that we don’t need to make incisions, rather just using local anesthetic, we place anywhere from 4-6 posts along your gum line so they attach to your jaw bone.

The procedure only takes a few hours and it can be done right in our office in Bellefonte. Since we don’t need to make incisions for this procedure, the recovery period is much shorter and within a few days you can start eating comfortably.

What to Know About Denture Implants

One of the most important things to know when considering denture implants is the cost. They are significantly less expensive than dental implants, or regular implants, costing anywhere from $500-$1,500 per upper implant and $2,000-$5,000 per lower implant. Dental implants can range from $12,000-$30,000.

Secondly, caring for denture implants is a combination of routines for natural teeth and dentures. You have to regularly brush them and continue routine visits to our office for cleaning and maintenance. Additionally, it’s still recommended you soak your dentures at least once a week.
